Not Getting Any Younger

Five Years ago this toothless, happy
little ball of chub entered our lives.
Now he's a happy, curious big ball of energy.
We've enjoyed his laughter and smiles
for 5 years and I don't know where I'd be without him.

So to commemorate this 5 year occasion,
we Kainoa to the bounce house place.
What more can a little boy want
than to run around like crazy
and jump all over the place...
Love the look of pure joy :)

This Guy...

This cute little guy is our nephew and cousin.

We've been thinking about him lately,

because in October, he became a big brother.

These photos are from when he, his mommy

and his daddy came to visit over the summer.

I loved taking photos of his cute face.

We miss him and his family

since they live on the other side of the country now.

But we can't wait to see them again

and meet his new baby brother.

Fun with Eggs

We did all our Easter stuff on Saturday:
Egg Hunt and Color Eggs.
I love that the boys are old enough
to get excited about fun holiday stuff.

Now there a lot of reasons why we love San Diego.
We haven't wrote them all down yet.
Not sure where this place would rank,
but it's definitely on the list.
Balboa Park is a fun little destination.
Filled with parks, museums and cultural centers.
It's a great place to wonder around and explore.
This is one of those places everyone who grew up in Sd,
went to on a field trip in school.
It's fun to show your kids where you went as a kid.
I remember playing around and throwing money
into this fountain.
We decided to check out the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center.
The kind of place kids love because they can run all over
without hearing, "Don't touch that!"
Counting...?

Here they are being Firefighters.

This hands-on museum is an awesome place to
take two boys with tons of energy.

Learning about Space. Kainoa building a tower.

After the Science center,
we wandered down to check out some more
little spots in Balboa Park.
This is the highly photographed,
Botanical Building.
It's filled with beautiful plants and flowers.
We walked around a checked them all out,
but didn't stay long, cause obviously this
is a No Touch Zone.

There are these two very cool art pieces,
which I would describe as mosaic statues.
This is the "alligator one" as the boys called it.

These are up close shots of what's it's covered with
Here's Kainoa hanging out on the alligator's mouth.
My boys
It's fun to discover things again with kids,
because everything is new to them.
We always have fun in SD,
but especially when we do stuff like this :)

We will walk for Miles and Miles

A couple weeks ago
we decided to walk
the Bob Jones trail with our keikis (kids)
There is a sign at the beginning of the trail about Bob Jones,
but we didn't stop to read it. So not sure exactly who he is,
but we sure enjoy walking his trail.
Here are some of our favorite fitness Mamas,
their joggers and cute kiddos.
Some scenery....

Here's a cool bridge toward the end of the trail.

There is some debate on the length of the trail.
If you look it up on the internet, it says 1.7 miles.
But we suspected it was longer.
So we clocked it with our super special Iphone
Runkeeper app, that tracked us via GPS,
and told us how far we'd gone.
2.6 miles, one way to the destination
we promised the kids we'd go to:
The Avila Beach Park,
aka The Pirate Ship Park.
Here are my boys chasing birds :)

So 2.6 miles one way, means 2.6 back.
A good 5.2 miles logged
on a beautiful day to take a walk
on this beautiful golden coast.

Oh, It is LOVE

So because we've got mad hook-ups at a delicious dessert shop,
we came upon some extra tasty baked-goods.
So we took them over to our buddy's house
and did some cookie decorating.
Some frosting for the cookie,
and some for ME!
Oni was definitely eating more than decorating :)

Heart shaped with pink frosting and red & white sprinkles.
Doesn't get much more V-day festive than that.

Enjoying the taste of edible crafts :)

On the acual February the 14th,
Oni and I made some heart-shaped pancakes...

Made with LOVE
While we flipped pancakes,
Kainoa made some Valentines.
We took pictures of them and sent
them out via email and mms...
Hey love is love.
even if it's sent and recieved electronically
